Personal Practices

One of the unique offerings we will give those participating in the conversation with us is the opportunity to create something that we call ‘personal practices’.  Things you can do, now, to make a small difference.  See some, now, on our site.  Soon, we will populate this list with many more ideas and our intent is that the community will rank them and offer more guidance after some have taken us up on our actions.  When done by many for a bit of time, we could really make a lot of changes.

Some of them more simple than others, some more personal than others, but all with the idea that we must do something, rather than just talk theory.

Here are a couple of examples that our community has already come up with:

  • Why don’t you request a diverse team from the outside consultants, legal council, financial and other service providers.  Not only will this ensure you get a better decision on your issues, but you will sustain the movement in their companies and keep it top-of-mind for you.
  • Why don’t you write a blog post for us?  Sometimes putting your thoughts into writing will give you feelings structure.  Pick a point and express it in your own words.  It will continue our conversation and put you in a different place in your own journey regarding diversity. (find the opposite gender and make it a he-said, she-said version!)
